TalentWorld is recruiting a Labour Relations Advisor in Guelph, ON for one of its valued partners. If you’re exploring new opportunities in labour relations within a construction environment, this role could be an excellent fit. In this position, you will be responsible for providing hands-on labour relations and HR support across a unionized construction operation, while also supporting payroll coordination, recruitment, and training and development initiatives, directly contributing to the success and operations of our partner company.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity working Monday to Friday in office. The salary range for this role is $100,000–$110,000 per year and includes a comprehensive health and dental benefits package, vacation entitlement, and an RRSP program in accordance with company policy.
Labour Relations Responsibilities
• Act as the primary point of contact for labour relations matters within a unionized construction environment, including interpretation and administration of collective agreements
• Manage and support grievance processes, investigations, discipline, and performance management in alignment with construction labour standards
• Advise project managers and site leadership on employee relations, attendance, workplace conduct, and legislative compliance
• Support recruitment activities for site-based and skilled trades roles, including onboarding and site orientation
• Coordinate and support training and development initiatives, including safety training, compliance programs, and workforce development
Labour Relations Qualifications
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Labour Relations, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience supporting labour relations in a unionized construction or industrial environment
• Strong working knowledge of construction labour legislation, collective agreements, and employment standards
• Experience supporting payroll processes for hourly, unionized workforces
• Exposure to recruiting skilled trades and site-based roles
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
