Contract AP Manager Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end Accounts Payable operation before and after system go-live, ensuring timely invoice processing, approvals, and payments while proactively clearing exceptions and backlogs.
- Provide hands-on leadership to the AP team, including approving transactions, managing daily workflows, and stepping into operational AP tasks as required.
- Triage system and process issues, manage escalations, and drive resolution in collaboration with IT, external vendors, Central Finance, and Procurement.
- Support AP automation and Serrala expansion activities, including user acceptance testing (UAT), post-go-live stabilization, and delivery of targeted end-user training and coaching.
- Oversee vendor master data issue resolution by logging, tracking, and following up on tickets with central procurement and ensuring timely closure.
- Ensure a smooth transition by completing a comprehensive handover with the departing AP Manager, including documentation, status updates, risks, and open items.
Contract AP Manager Job Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a hands-on Accounts Payable leadership role, managing staff and high-volume AP environments (70,000+ invoices annually preferred).
- Demonstrated experience supporting AP automation implementations and go-lives, including UAT, post-launch issue resolution, and coordination with IT and third-party vendors.
- Expert-level SAP experience; prior exposure to Serrala or similar AP automation tools is a strong asset.
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to coach, support, and stabilize teams during periods of change.
- Excellent issue triage, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and MS Office, with the ability to analyze data, track issues, and produce clear operational reporting.
Employment Details:
- Salary: $30/ hour
- Benefits: 40 Hours Weekly
- Duration: 2 months of contract with a possibility of extension
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, Onsite preferred
- Location: Toronto, ON
