Construction Project Manager Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple construction and renovation projects from planning through completion, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are met
- Work closely with the Capital Projects General Manager to develop and execute long-term capital and leasehold improvement strategies
- Provide leadership and operational oversight to site supervisors and project teams
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety compliance, and quality standards
- Interpret and enforce construction drawings, contracts, municipal bylaws, and permitting requirements
Construction Project Manager Qualifications
- Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience in commercial and/or residential construction
- Strong knowledge of Halifax-area construction practices, permitting processes, and local bylaws
- Ability to work both in-office and on active construction sites
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
