Utility Project Manager - Data Centers
The Utility Project Manager plays a key role in overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of utility infrastructure projects across Data Centers’ mission-critical facilities. this role ensures the reliable, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of power, water, and gas systems supporting large-scale data center operations.

Responsibilities of the Utility Project Manager:
  • Lead the end-to-end management of utility infrastructure projects, including power, water, and gas systems, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Act as the primary liaison with utility providers, managing negotiations, service connections, and long-term partnerships.
  • Oversee installation and upgrades of critical systems such as power distribution, generators, HVAC, and water treatment.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain detailed project budgets, schedules, and reports for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including permits, safety codes, and environmental standards across jurisdictions.
  • Provide mentorship and technical direction to engineers, coordinators, and contractors.
  • Promote energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability initiatives across new and existing data center facilities.
  • Conduct on-site visits to monitor progress, resolve challenges, and ensure project alignment with specifications.
Qualifications for the Utility Project Manager:
  • 5–7 years of experience in utility project management, infrastructure planning, or energy systems.
  • Strong technical background in power distribution, HVAC, water, and gas systems.
  • Proven experience working with utility companies, regulatory agencies, and construction teams.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical codes, permitting processes, and sustainability best practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills;
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management training is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across North America.
