This full-time, permanent role is ideal for someone who loves negotiating, enjoys working with both domestic and international suppliers, and takes pride in maintaining accurate inventory and organized purchasing processes. You’ll play a key role in keeping the supply chain efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with company goals.
Senior Buyer Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end purchasing activities, from sourcing suppliers to issuing purchase orders.
- Review quotes, analyze options, and secure competitive pricing for key products and materials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to support long-term supply needs.
- Monitor order status, follow up on deliveries, and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and purchasing records to support operational targets.
- Update supplier information, pricing details, lead times, and stock codes with precision.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support production, operations, and inventory planning.
- Contribute to process improvements and help develop purchasing SOPs.
- Ensure all purchasing activity follows organizational standards and compliance guidelines.
Senior Buyer Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on procurement experience.
- Strong understanding of purchasing procedures and inventory control.
- Comfortable working with purchasing systems and Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor-management skills.
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and stay ahead of deadlines.
- Reliable, punctual, and confident working independently and collaboratively.
Employment Details:
Location: Markham, ON
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Status: Full-time, Permanent
Compensation: $70,000 annually + benefits
