TalentWorld is recruiting a Commodity Tax Analyst in Calgary, Alberta for one of our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain tax compliance by filing accurate returns for GST/HST, PST, and other commodity taxes.
  • Offer strategic tax planning guidance to minimize liabilities within legal parameters.
  • Represent the organization during tax audits, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Analyze financial data to understand tax implications on operations and transactions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate tax strategies with overall business goals.
  • Educate stakeholders on tax laws and compliance standards.
  • Drive process enhancements to optimize tax procedures and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in commodity tax compliance, reporting, and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations related to GST/HST, PST, and other commodity taxes.
  • Professional designation such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Certification in indirect taxation (e.g., CITA) or international tax analysis (e.g., CITA) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in tax software such as QuickBooks, Sage 50 (formerly known as Simply Accounting), Xero, TurboTax, ProFile, and ERP systems like SAP, Oracle Financials, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
Employment Details
  • Benefits: 40 Hours weekly, Permanent, Full-Time, Hybrid/Onsite
  • Schedule: 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday to Friday
