TalentWorld is recruiting a Tax Compliance Analyst in Calgary, Alberta for one of our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of indirect tax returns in compliance with federal, provincial, and territorial regulations.
  • Develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with tax laws.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and provide recommendations.
  • Identify and mitigate potential tax risks through regular audits and controls.
  • Assist with tax audits by providing documentation and support to tax authorities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align on tax matters and provide training as needed.
  • Continuously improve tax processes and systems for efficiency and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of tax filings and correspondence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in Canadian Tax, at least 5+ years of experience in Canadian tax compliance and planning, with a focus on indirect taxes such as GST/HST, PST, and QST.
  • CPA, CA (Chartered Accountant) designation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Canadian tax laws and regulations, with a strong understanding of indirect tax principles and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with tax software and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
  • Familiarity with tax data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.
  • Experience with tax audit support and resolution, including liaising with tax authorities and resolving disputes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research complex tax issues and provide recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance in tax reporting and documentation.

  • Benefits: 40 Hours weekly, Permanent, Full-Time, Hybrid/Onsite
